Security forces arrested five Iranian nationals of the three European states, suspected of espionage. Reported that among the detainees – two German nationals and one British citizen and two citizens of France. All of them were arrested during the recent unrest in Tehran and are suspected of spying. Other details have not yet been reported.
We remind, that the authorities of European Union today said, that Iran’s leadership has requested some European diplomats to the government, which are accredited in the country, and expressed the protest against the interference in the internal affairs of the Islamic Republic.
According to Jan Kohauta – Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Czech Presidency in the EU, the European diplomats “do not understand” such a d?marche of the Iranian side, because their activities are limited to the expression of concern, as the Iranian authorities dispense with the opposition, which is dissenting from the election results.
Earlier, British Foreign Secretary David Milibend rejected accusations, that London is supporting the Iranian opposition, protesting against rigged, as they say, the outcome of the presidential election. FM Britain stressed, that the election of Iran’s leadership is a matter for the Iranian people.
