The earthquake occurred around 11:00 local time. Epicenter tremors were 79 kilometers away from the town of Santa Isabel, hypocenter – at a depth of 15 kilometers under the ground.
Tremors were felt in San Diego (California) and Phoenix (Arizona). As the TV channel NBC report, in San Diego, because of the earthquake was evacuated the city administration. Portal Azcentral.com said, that in Phoenix also felt the effects of the earthquake. No major damage according to preliminary data was caused in California or in Arizona.
According to the USGS, was preceded by a weak earthquake tremors in the same area. Their strength was 5.8 points.
