F-35In the United States held a presentation ceremony of first “deck fighter” F-35C Lightning II, which will replace the F/A-18 as the early series and should arrive to the U.S. Navy and the UK. This is the press-service of corporation Lockheed Martin, which is a major developer and manufacturer of the aircrafts.

The first fighter aircraft F-35C, designated CF-1, will host a series of ground tests before it make the first flight scheduled for late 2009. This is the ninth-account test of the fifth-generation fighter F-35, which is used to test samples, along with built F-35A and F-35B, which made more than a hundred flights.

U.S. Navy expect to receive the aircraft in 2015. It will differ from the existing mix of fighter aircraft technology invisibility, supersonic speed and high maneuverability. In addition, Lockheed Martin promises that the machine will have an “uncompromising” suitability for use on the aircraft carriers, as well as meet with the use of low-cost services in the stealth materials, that will enable long-term use of aircraft in the marine environment.

Note, that the project for a multipurpose fighter aircraft F-35 Lightning II is implemented with the participation of several States to adopt, that they must act accordingly. Among the current and potential customers of about three thousand machines are United States, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Italy, Canada, Turkey, Australia, Norway and Denmark. But Washington expects, that in the long run the market of F-35 could reach six thousand units.
