In Turkey, detained 165 members of the banned Islamist group Hizb ut-Tahrir (Party of Liberation).
As stated in the declaration, the Islamists were arrested on Friday during raids, conducted simultaneously in 21 out of 81 provinces of the country. The operation was conducted jointly with the Turkish National Security Service (Milli Istihbarat Teskilati – MIT).
Also reported, that the Islamists had seized firearms and outreach materials to promote the creation of a single Islamic state.
The organization “Hizb ut-Tahrir”, or “Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami (Islamic Liberation Party), was founded in 1953 in Jerusalem as a branch of the Egyptian movement of Muslim Brothers.” The organization advocates the establishment of the Caliphate the world and operates mainly in the Arab States and the West. In many countries, the organization “Hizb ut-Tahrir” declared as the terrorist, although its leaders claim, that operate by exclusively peaceful means.
