Anarchists staged riots in the center of Hamburg

During several hours of continued Riots in Hamburg, where police was attacked by vandals opposed by troops.

Clashes began on Saturday evening. Nearly 5000 people came to the street festival Schwarzenfest in the city center. At one point, the holiday turned into riots.

Arrived on the scene, additional police units were unable to immediately bring the situation under control. Attacked by vandals, who had dominated the activists of radical leftist groups and anarchists, built barricades, began to throw stones and bottles at police and set on fire several patrol cars. Clashes continued throughout the night. Only with the onset of the day on Sunday the situation in the streets was able to take control.

According to official figures, during the fights were injured 27 police officers. 67 of the rioters were arrested. The exact number of casualties among ordinary citizens are not reported.
