Renewable EnergyUnited States acceded to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). The document was signed in the Egyptian Sharm el-Sheikh by the representatives of the U.S. Department of State.

“The participation of our government in creating the agency – is an important part of the government program in support of environmentally safe technologies and the development of the economy based on them to influence the global climate change,” – commented the decision of U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The head of the American Foreign Ministry added, that the new agency would be able to guarantee the world’s natural resources with maximum efficiency. This, in particular, would solve many problems in developing countries, said in a press release, U.S. Department of State.

IRENA was established in January 2009 to support the production of renewable energy worldwide. Apart from the United States, 135 States have already joined the agency, the central office which will be located in the UAE.
