British Parliamentary Committee of Control over the export of weapons, suspected some companies intermediaries in the purchase of Soviet weapons in Ukraine and reselling it to countries wich are subject of embargo.
The report prepared by the deputies, that they got this information from the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. British firms were getting at the Ukraine, a license to purchase weapons, after which, presumably, exported it to countries of the “black list”.
This is not known whether the weapons were exported directly from the Ukraine, or its customers through the UK. In addition, unknown, what weapons appear in the report committee.
Report with a list of companies, which are suspected in the implementation of the scheme, referred to British Foreign Secretary David Milibend. He had already ordered to begin an investigation.
Prepared the report MPs, expressed concern, that the British Government is not aware of the existence of licensed Ukrainian arms brokers. In this regard, they proposed to tighten control over arms exports to countries which are subject of embargo.
