The fourth coming of Jack Sparrow

Walt Disney threatened to make the “Pirates of the Caribbean” characters in the drama.

It is unlikely that in the world could be found at least one naive moviegoer who would piously believed, that the story of Captain Jack Sparrow will be described in only three films. Two and a half billion dollars was earned rolling  in the world series, made it easier to continue. And now the company Walt Disney, long awaited from all kinds of speculation in the press on this subject, and the lips of one of its functionaries announced the start date of filming the fourth movie, and clarified, that it would be no longer those “Pirates” that we knew.

The first speach about the continuation of the trilogy begun immediately after the third part. And not just because of the promising finals Barbossa with a map showing the path to the source of living water, but also because of the episode, which the most patient viewers can enjoy after the credits. That one where shown ten years later heroine of Kira Knightley, leading a son on the beach, where must come “cold heart” Orlando Bloom.

At one point even thought, that Walt Disney, along with producer Jerry Bruckheimer preparing to shoot two movies at once, dividing the plot lines Sparrow and his free and unwitting partners in the pirate business. But talk about the history of segregated Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann became silenced fairly quickly. But the number of rumors of a forthcoming new journey of Jack continued to grow.

In September 2008, was announced the beginning of the scenario for new film, with a clarification, that Jack Sparrow will be its main character. Then the media heard of some astronomical fee, which supposedly was offered for the return of Johnny Depp on board of the “Black Pearl”. Called the sum of 56 million dollars, which would have made Depp most paid actor in the history of cinema, but no official confirmation was received. Anyway, Depp has agreed to participate in the film, and it seemed, that the leadership of Walt Disney may have to start counting the possible profits.

The fact that the project is not all right, became fair in a month. It hinted the whole series of rumors, another interesting one. The most alarming of all was the information, that the directing chair could be reserved not for Gore Verbinski, but for a longtime friend of Depp – Tim Burton, who was about to shoot his version of “Alice in Wonderland.” This meant only one thing – Verbinski does not desire to spend few years more of his life to publicize the attractions of Disneyland.

And that was true. Already in April 2009, the director notified Jerry Bruckheimer and Walt Disney leadership, that intends to devote himself to other projects. For example, the screening of popular computer game BioShock or film on grounds of table game “Clue.” It is possible, the case of Verbinski leaving, was not only in a desire to have break from Sparrow and others. Perhaps in the flurry of financial crisis, franchise owners offered him a fee which was not too convincing. The fact remains: Gore Verbinski left from the project. But the retreat was impossible, and in summer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed, that work on the script included in the final stage.

And on passing in the San Diego annual exhibition of Comic-con, head of production department of Walt Disney Oren Aviv announced, that the team will shout “engine!” the first time in April of 2010. The film will start a new trilogy, the first series of which will be presented to viewers in 2011. And then the most interesting.

According to Aviv, the new series will have no trace of the magnitude of the original picture. “It is important to determine the correct direction of the franchise, and we believe, that it is proper to reduce the magnitude of the first trilogy. It is a complete reboot, so to say a trip to the sources, which will focus on the characters and stories of characters” – he said. And nothing was said about the director and performers of other roles.

So, if everything that was said is true, we can expect a very intimate film, which focuses on some facts, of course, a rich biography of Jack Sparrow. For example, you it could be story about Jack and his lost brother, the benefit about such a turn of the plot has already spread by the media. Even called the name of the actor, who could become Jr. Sparrow – Sacha Baron Cohen. Or it coud be a story about some long-beloved Jack, which met with a girl, that gave him strange habits which had become his calling card.

But all of this would be not as good old Pirates Of The Caribbean. After all, “Pirates of the Caribbean” – is not only a memorable images of Jack Sparrow, Barbossa, and the lords Pintela Ragetti, Commander Norrington and even Will Turner with Elizabeth Swann. This is a bright and exciting attraction with naval battles, with dead skeletons, creeping on the ropes, the guys with a giant cephalopods molluscs, with volleys of hundreds of guns and explosions, that could doubt, that the plastic explosive was invented only in the XX century. And all this was very expensive, about $ 300 million spent on the third part of the movie.

And if Walt Disney Company wants to turn the “Pirates” in the drama of characters, there will be no new trilogy. There will be a movie, on which we all will go go solely because of natural curiosity.
