National Intelligence Service of South Korea has been informed, that the leadership of North Korea at last month ordered the military Nouth Korean Research Institute, to destroy South Korean internet communications.
According to South Korean media, the special services briefed parliamentarians on the findings, which indicate the involvement of Pyongyang for a massive cyber attacks on key South Korean Web sites, that have taken place in recent days.
According to the press, research institutes affiliated with the Ministry of the DPRK Armed Forces, was ordered to “destroy the puppet communications network of South Korea instantly”. Institute, which has been charged with the job, allegedly specialized in hacking of computer networks and the spread of malicious programs.
Since the beginning of July, more than two dozen web sites in South Korea and the United States, including government portals, suffered a massive cyber attacks, DDoS type. Sources in the South Korean Communications Commission reported, that the experts identified the IP-addresses in the five countries from which extend malware – is Austria, Georgia, Germany, South Korea and the United States. However, this information is virtually devoid of value, since hackers could use it is false IP-address and thus mask their true location.
