Israel could build friendly relations with Iran, if the Islamic state is led by a different government, says Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. According to the Israeli prime minister, the riots in Iran over the election results showed, that many Iranians do not support the current regime. “If they had the freedom to choose, I have no doubt, that they would choose a different government,” – he said.
Benjamin Netanyahu has called Iran as theocratic, totalitarian and rigid state, which does not provide freedom of choice to its citizens, and expressed confidence, that the friendly relations, that existed in the past could be revived “if Iran would be headed by a different government”.
Speaking about the prospects for peaceful relations in the Middle East, Israeli Prime expressed hope, that Arab countries will try to stabilize relations with Israel. Benjamin Netanyahu also spoke in support of an independent, but the demilitarized Palestine. “We want to see they have power to govern the country, with the exception of those forces, that may harm Israel. The Palestinian government does not need the missiles,” – he said.
