Iran RiotsPolice of Iran intends to strictly suppress all illegal protest action planned for today.

This was told with reference to the statement by deputy head of the police Ahmadriz Radan.

“I must stress, that all the protests which took place last week, were illegal and, as of today, any action against the election results will be recognized as illegal. The police will act firmly and rigidly,” – said A. Radan.

The day before the chief spiritual leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei during the treatment of the Iranian nation on the occasion of the traditional Friday prayers at Tehran University, said that the results of presidential elections in Iran – “unconditional victory”, and their results are not rigged.

According to him, the preponderance of 11 million votes in favor of the current president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has demonstrated the absence of any fraud, and similar charges put Iran’s enemies who want to harm the ruling system.

“The rioting in the streets, is work of Britain and external enemies of Iran, and the demonstrators held accountable for these disturbances, if they do not stop,” – he said. In doing so, the ayatollah said that in Iran, the revolution will not happen, such as those that occurred in recent years in the former USSR.

According to A. Khamenei, the demonstration should be stopped, and the opposition should submit their objections within the legal order. He also noted, that the highest state body, to supervise elections, mandated to consider complaints about the results.

June 12, 2009. Iran held its presidential election in which the victory with a great superiority won the incumbent President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. He won with 62.6% of the total votes, almost twice as much as his chief rival – former prime minister Mir-Hossein Moussavi, who did not recognize the election results and accused the authorities of countries in their fraud.
