Amnesty for Chechen fighters will no longer be

The Government intends to abandon Chechnya tactic of amnesties to members of illegal armed groups. This what said President Ramzan Kadyrov in Moscow.

At a meeting with deputies of the Duma, he stressed that the leadership of the region no longer intends to apply to the federal center to take the initiative of the amnesty, as in Chechnya today, “the law”.

With regard to the remaining fighters, then R. Kadyrov expressed his intention to “strictly and severely deal with them.”

Tactics of the amnesty is widely used by federal and local authorities in Chechnya over the past few years. Forgiveness was given to the militants, who have not committed serious crimes.

It is believed that through amnesties from the mountains and forests were brought back hundreds of fighters who have expressed a willingness to live peaceful and to cooperate with the new authorities.

Added that in recent days on the border of Chechnya and Ingushetia, was carried out special operation, which sought a large group of militants. In Grozny, did not rule out that among the bandits and warlords are documents Umarov, who calls himself “president of Ichkeria.”
