OSCEMembers of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) agreed to begin discussions on updating the security of the continent in response to new threats and challenges.

Head of Foreign Affairs of Russia – Sergey Lavrov, presented at the informal forum of the OSCE on the Greek island of Corfu, the main provisions of the treaty on European Security, proposed by President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev. However, some EU countries did not agree with them. The current chairman of the OSCE, Foreign Minister of Greece Dora Bakoyannis called on to rise above the game of mutual accusations and to seek joint solutions. “We must once again reaffirm our collective achievements in the field of comprehensive and indivisible security. At the same time, we should not hide the flaws and failures in confronting the challenges of the twenty-first century”, – said chairman of the OSCE.
