236531The number of influenza A H1N1 virus infection in Romania has increased over the past few days from 9 to 16.

According to the Ministry of Health, the last two ill were parents of 37-year-old man, which arrived on June 10 from Canada. Seniors are placed under the supervision of doctors at the center of Infectious Diseases in Bucharest.

Tuesday, 9 June, the Romanian Ministry of Health announced, that all nine registered at that time in the country carrying A H1N1 has successfully passed all the medical procedure and discharged from hospitals. Since then the number of people infected has risen to 16 people. All of these people recently arrived from the United States and Canada, or are their relatives and friends.

The Minister of Health Ion Bazak in this regard, made a statement which stressed, that the country has not been on large-scale spread of the infection.

World Health Organization (WHO) on 11 June for the first time in more than 40 years, officially announced the introduction of the sixth, the highest level of the threat of a pandemic due to the rapid spread of global influenza A H1N1.

According to the latest WHO info, in 74 countries around the world registered, 29 thousand and 669 new cases of human infection by virus, of which 145 cases – were fatal.
