Court of U.S. refused to release the billionaire – A. Stanford, on bail

U.S. court has refused to release Texas billionaire – Allen Stanford on bail, who is accused of major financial fraud. District Court Judge – David Hittner granted the application for extension of a preventive measure for A. Stanford as a pre-trial detention.

The prosecution believes, that the international context, and dual citizenship of A. Stanford (he also is a citizen of the Caribbean state of Antigua and Barbuda) could help him avoid American justice.

Earlier, the court agreed to release billionaire on bail of 500 thousand dollars, ruling, that A. Stanford should contain at the house under surveillance.
